Danny's Summer '06 Study Abroad
Yesterday we arrived in Oxford. I went into town some last night and ran through it this morning. There's tons of shopping and pubs and churches. Our campus is very pretty w/ a lake and tons of flowers. I finally am able to unpack and not live out of a suitcase, w/ a room all to myself. Unfortunately I'm in one of the oldest buildings, but it has a good location, right near the dining halls, pub, main quad (don't step on the grass or you'll be kicked out). Some of the other buildings have kitchens though which are nice and much newer rooms. Classes start tomorrow, I have an 8 am class which will be rough but I get done at 1 so my whole afternoon is free. I wasn't able to make it to Stonehenge today b/c the train is a lot longer than I thought (3 hrs) since you have to do several connections, and I had to be back by 4 for the England game. We watched it in the campus pub on a big screen projection. Yes there is a campus pub, how crazy is that. I finally have constant internet so I'll be able to check regularly during the week while I'm here. This weekend is Amsterdam, we have an early flight Fri. morn. so we're going into London thurs. night and just staying out until our flight in the morn.
