We spent a couple of days in and around Karijini National Park. Spectacular gorges, stunning scenery, amazing ranges. On the first day we did Dales Gorge Rim Walk which followed the gorge between Circular Pool and end up at the Fortescue Falls. We free camped outside of the National Park. We stopped for two nights at Albert Tognolini rest area. It is a great camp spot with stunning views onto of a mountain looking down into a valley and onto the Great Northern Highway. We went for hikes, discovered beautiful wild flowers, did washing and some camp cooking.One the menu on our second night was Satay Curry Beef, yes cooked on the camp oven. It was amazing.

One place Alan wanted to visit was the old township of Witternoon. We detoured 40km's off the Great Northern Highway and headed towards Witternoon. Witternoon was were blue asbestos was mined and in it's heyday had 7000 workers and 20000 people lived in the town.
