So today we are in Nowra visiting my son for his birthday. Even though it's raining it didn't dampen our enthusiasm to explore the local area. We first went to HMAS Albatross to the Navy museum where we saw some amazing decommissioned air craft and historical defence items. Was amazing to see what our boys used to fly. Things have definitely progressed.
We then decided to go to the historical town of Berry. Where we shopped at the Chocolate Factory, Bon Bon store and the Emporium, where we acquired a range of chocolates, boiled lollies and local cheese. We then visited the Doughnut Van for American hotdogs, doughnuts and coffee. Top spot for a wicked lunch. Gunna pay for it later though I'm sure, but what a beautiful town to visit.
We then went for a tour to Husskison, Vincentia then finally Hyams beach, where we gazed out over the beach to the headland , where you can catch Marlin off the rocks and then to our right, HMAS Creswell. Was quiet at the time but can imagine in peak season this place would be packed. So beautiful. We'll be having dinner tonight at the Aussie Pub in Nowra, then head home tomorrow with our spoils.
Definitely worth a visit.
