hi everyone. well i'm now in the land of downunder!! been here for about week now. flew in to brisbane and got the greyhound bus straight down to byron bay. the weather was great on the way down but as soon we arrived in byron it started to rain! but hey was not just a little rain,o no it rained for 4 days!! so as you can imagine did'nt do much there. went to a place not far from byron called nimbin. its only a small town but it's the only place in oz where it's legal to smoke the wacky backy!!! yes it's like a little amsterdam. back in the sixty's some hippies arrived and had a massive party!! around 5000 people turned up and there were only 2 police men in the town!! so you can imagine there was some pot smoking going on!! they had to turn a blind eye to it but if you make a law one week and then try and change it the next it does'nt work. so thats why you can smoke pot in nimbin!! loads of hippies everywhere, and cafes!! strange place but i enjoyed myself!!! left byron to go to surfers paradise and guess what it was still raining!! so did'nt get to do much here either. the first night we got there they were doing a pub crawl!! so had to ablige and go along. met a bloke called ian from hertfordshire. also met his sister nicci and her friend nina, they had come out to see him. we got right on the tiles!! felt a bit old a first as they were playing all the drinking games,felt like 18 2 30's party night. they left the day before me, but i met up with them in brisbane. there traveling the same direction as me. on monday we arranged to go to australia zoo. home to steve irwin the croc hunter. guess what?? he was there at the zoo aswell!!! so we all star struck!!! the girls a lot more than me and ian!!! got back to the hostel and yes we went out on another session. ended up on the roof top of the hostel around 3am!!! today i went for walk to southbank just accross the other side of the river. it's got a man made beach so just chilled out there for a while. i'll be staying in brisbane for 2 weeks. i've got my work visa. i've opened up a bank account and applied for my tax code. so have to wait 7 to 10 days for these to turn up. you have to have these to be able to work in oz.but brisbane a cool place so i don't mind and i've got plenty of time!!! i'm going to moreton island on saturday. it's 30mins from brisbane. a bit like a small frazer island rainforest,sandboarding,etc so i'll let you know about that later. well thats enough from me. see you soon and g'day sport!!!
