hello geezers and babes. how you all doing? well am doing fine. still buming around new zealand!! after leaving taupo i went to wellington. the capital of new zealand. fancied a chinese for dinner but was dissappointed after eating it. had better!! anna did'nt feel good so went back to the hostel. i had arranged to meet glenn. a guy i met in south america and lives in new zealand. met him a a bar called havana. still can't get away from the spanish!! really cool bar tho. had a good night. going to try and meet up again. next stop was accross to south island,nelson. did'nt do much that night, just chilled in front of the tv. the next day we left for another small town,greymouth. nothing there either.went out in the evening to monteith's brewery. a well known beer in n/z. the guide took us around the brewery, showing us how they make it,how much they sell etc. the best part was getting to taste them all!! i like a one called monteith's pilsner. another good thing was getting to pour your own pint!! after we went to the local and had some food witch was included in the price. nothing special just sausages and salad the next day we set of for franz josef. we arrived around 12 checked in the hostel and had to quickly go and book the 2 tours we want to do,kayaking and ice climbing up in franz josef glacier. that day we done the kayaking. we went out into this massive lake. it was so calm and peacefull. you could'nt hear a thing!! the guide took us around the lake, telling us how the lake was formed and the amount of trout fish there is in there. on the way back as we went out in the afternoon we got to see the sunset! we got some really nice photo's which are on my site. remember the sun has gone down now so it's getting preaty cold!! the thing is you don't wear your shoe's in the kayak. so when i got out it was so cold!! my feet were numb!!! luckly enough when we got back to the hostel to my surprise there was free soup going round!! that done the trick and warmed me up!! next day we went up into franz josef glacier to do some ice climbing. arrived at the ice climbing center,which was where we got kitted up with our equipment. you got preaty much everything boots,cramp ons,wet trousers,wet jacket,helmet,gloves,ice pick and a rusk sac to put it all in!! all set to go now. off to the park. we had to hike for an hour until we got to the foot of the glacier. it does'nt look that big when you you walking towards it!! when you get there it's wow!! never seen nothing like it. it took us about another hour to climb up into the glacier to where we were going to do our ice climbing. we started off on a small one,well 15m's high. i got to the top both time's!! it looks so easy when your watching, but until you actually do it. man is it it hard!! you using all your strength to get to the top. once you get to the top you absail back down. the next wall is higher and taller!! 20m's high. i had 2 attempts at it. the first time i got about 2 thirds up and the second i only got half way!! buy this time your knackered!! still enjoyed it great fun and would do it again. a very tirering day out. the next day i could'nt move!! ached all over. next was wanaka. small town not much there. just caught up my sleep. you think traveling is easy!!! well think again. on the move all the time. finally we hit queenstown. the party town!! met up with hayley springhal. she is out here for a year. she had also done us a favour and booked us in the hostel where she was staying and also in the same dorm!! that night we hit the town big time!! following the happy hours! as you can imagine i was wreck!! went to get home but did'nt have a clue where the hostel was!! jumped in a cab and it was literly around the corner!! hey save's walking when your that drunk!! considering the amount of alcohol i had consumed i felt ok the next day!! had a walk around the town today to get my bearings!! just so i can get home tonight. watched the fa cup final in a sports bar. tough game. good atomosphere in the pub especially when it went to penaltys!! felt a bit ropey when i got up today tho. think it's got something to do with lack of sleep to much booze!! went to the skyline center today. it's on top of a mountain looking over queenstown. jumped in a gondola which took us to the top. great veiws. done some luging which is like this little bike you sit on go down a track. great fun and very addictive. tomorrow we off to milford sounds. well i'm not go to bore you with my life anymore!! so am going to go cook some dinner,spag bol. still eating well!! speak to you all soon bye
