Well, yesterday morning I started the long drive to Chicago from Phillie. I had to stop to see the locals of course. On my way out I stopped at Lancaster for Sukkot Services with Laura and Micah. Mazel Tov again on the wedding. It was very nice to see them again and doing well. Later I stopped to see my old friend Kim in Millsville. She introduced me to the Bloomsburg Fair, Peroigies, and rice pudding. Turns out Deep Fried Oreos are true. I also bumped into the Amish. It was a pleasant surprise.
Once I got back on the road people kept me company by calling in and chatting while I drove into the night. A thunderstorm got tossed my way,but I got through it alright. Pennsylvania, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure never ends. It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on. I think that pretty much covers it.
Ohio was nice and easy. Interestingly enough, the storm had knocked out their credit card system for the gas pumps at the service plazas. Not one plaza on I-80 could take credit cards for gas. Thank god I had cash.
Right after I crossed over into Indiana I hit a bump in the road. Thankfully there was an angel watching over me and I was able to recover and make it to a rest stop for some well needed rest. Thank you for being there for me last night, I will never forget it.
This morning I easily drove into Chicago, parked on the Dan Ryan Expressway for 30 minutes, and then circled into my grandparents condo after missing the turn on my first pass. I spent the day with my uncle, who showed me the town, including lunch at the Billy Goat Tavern, and a good Gelatto place. That's all folks. Check in tomorrow for another update :-)
