THE ONE WITH MOLLY McBUTTER PRETZELS
In the early morning hours Amandaelizabe sprang from her bed only to be abruptly awoken by freezing cold water. Clearly Jerry at the front desk didn't get "a chance to call maintenance", really what is there to do on back shift? Yet it turns out the late bird catches the worm for Christopheria rolled out of bed with 20 minutes to spare and had a nice warm shower. Off to the airport it was and through security where Chris was scanned relentlessly as if he had a metal leg (and head according to Amanda) (note to self don't listen to security guard when they tell you not to remove your x-ring, belt, or watch).
Some 'ethically' traded java was next on the agenda to ensure we were alert for our early morning boarding call.
Flight was.... Small to sum it up. Amanda lucked out with the window seat however small flights mean small windows... Didn't really see much. Cute little kid sat infront of us, Amanda wanted to trade chris for the kid but it didn't happen. Chris wondered why Amanda wasn't that cute when she was little. We discovered that brickaber's boarding pass sounded like a disease, Christopheria, never gonna let him live that down. Oh and for the first time ever we were served the stereotypical and infamous airplane pretzels, which oddly enough had a Molly McButter seasoning.
Ottawa stopover can be summed up as "the search for Chris' Globe and Mail", which was found just prior to boarding in a free newspaper stand. Thank god for it kept Chris busy and quiet for the flight to Toronto.
Highlight of Toronto airport was by far the moving sidewalks, which Amanda insisted we use whenever possible. While waiting in line for customs we had to suppress a laugh when we saw what could only be the twin of the Asian actor in the Hangover. Chris was tempted to ask him to quote a line from the movie but Amanda held him back. $21 later we had lunch in hand and it is safe to say we have never savored a chicken sandwich so much before in our lives!!!
For the last leg of our journey we watched the Social Network, Unstoppable, & Morning Glory. Gotta love 4 hour flights! And after navigating through the Denver airport shuttle system, gawking at the tornado safe zones, and meeting Suzie, we met up with Leslie at Olive Garden for Supper. Great food, good wine (diet coke), and superb company was enjoyed by us all. Amanda had her one and only wish come true the first day and is content to go home without going anywhere else! Well we must sign off, it has been a loooonnnnggggg day and we need to be ready for tomorrow.
