Yesterday I worked for Marie at the caravan park for a few hours cleaning cabins. I then packed up the van ready for travelling.
But all did not go to plan because clumsy me decided I needed more of a challenge for the trip and so I threw myself out the caravan door (slipped actually) and landed on my thigh flat on the concrete pad. Just as well I was driving my car because the seats aren't as fitting as the Prado's and they don't put as much pressure on my leg.
We are packed and ready to leave for Eidsvold where Pat will be working for the next 3 - 6 months at this stage. Before we left Pat and I visited the Normanton Saturday markets that were being held in the old Burns Phillips building at the end of town. A great place to visit.
It is certainly different travelling as a team than when travelling alone. Towing the van at 80-95 km/h while I sat behind him in my car. The rougher the road the slower you go. You see a whole lot of country that you don't normally see as well when driving faster as I did going up.
We stayed the night in McKinlay at the Walkabout Hotel. They have park spaces for vans, campers & tents behind the hotel. This hotel was made famous in the movie Crocodile Dundee. Not a bad pub either for such a small town.
During the short stop Pat spent a little time changing one of the tyres on the van. A new tyre will be bought once we reach Eidsvold.
