Day trip by local train to historic Szentendre a very old town on what they call Danube Bend about 25km out of Budapest. Most tourists go there by boat so we opted for the train with the locals and it took about 35mins
Pleasant wander through the cobbled streets and side streets - bit touristy near the boats so we headed the other way for a drink and a light lunch.
Train then tram back to the apartment for a pre dinner duty free Moët.
Out again about 6 for a drink at "our local" then dinner at another of the many good quality restaurants - giant veal schnitzel for Alan and veal stew for Virginia at half Adelaide prices
Short walk back to apartment, cognac and bed - transit day tomorrow train all day to Krakow in Poland.
