Isle of Wight
Last weekend (30/31 March), we caught a car ferry to the Isle of Wight, where mum and I had been to a family wedding last year. It was great to go back and actually be able to see the island this time, as last year our 24 hours there was pretty hectic (and full of Budweiser's! For me that is, not for mum!).
We managed to drive around a fair whack of the island in a couple of days where we saw some pretty cool coastline, lovely green countryside, and towns that will definitely come to life during the summer months here. As it was, there were quite a few other people visiting the island while we were there, as the weather had improved quite a lot since the Easter weekend. Nige even managed to wander around a couple of times without a jumper or jacket!
It's amazing just how many mini golf courses you can stumble upon when your eyes are open for them! Our mini golf tour took us to 3 different 'courses' on the island, one at the totally dodgy adventure park located at the Needles (one of the islands best known tourist locations); an indoor adventure one on the Sandown Pier, and another adventure one along the seafront at Shanklin. To cut irrelevant details short, out of 4 rounds, the score currently stands at 2 wins for me and 2 draws!
