Crew Frivolous
We were woken by a light shower this morning. Outside was quite damp but very pretty. After a quick breakfast we drove about 3.5km to the Wreck Rock Campground (& toilet). We had a quick look at the beach and headed back along the sandy track to Agnes Waters stopping to look at Flat Rock along the way.
We missed the turn off to Agnes Waters surf beach and made our way to 1770. We stopped along the foreshore and were impressed by the beauty of the bay and surrounds. We drove up to the campground in the hope they had a couple of vacant sites for the night. They did!! After a bite to eat we went for a drive around the area.
Our first stop was at the Lt James Cook Monument which was where he landed on the 24th May 1770, hence the name. Then we stopped at Joseph Banks Conservation Park and checked out Wave Lookout and Bustard Bay Lookout.
While we walked along the path to the lookout we saw a small SNAKE!!!! I know it was very small but my heart was hammering so hard. I got one quick pic and when it moved that did it for me. I was off along the track........ Did I mention, I DON'T LIKE SNAKES.
After we checked out the view we then went to look at the Countess Russell Anchor and then made our way over to Anges Waters Surf Beach (Qld's northern most surf beach) It is a beautiful beach. We then made our way back to 1770. As we passed the park office we stopped in and paid to stay for another night. They weren't suprised to see us they said not many people stay for just one night.
