I can't believe we're leaving Chiang Mai :( We've had an AMAZING time here but we do seem to have stopped travelling to time to get on the go again!!
We arrived on the 4th May and checked into our hotel, called Imm Eco which is just outside the city centre and was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and has a pool which turned into a godsend in the sizzling heat!
We've spent a few days just chillaxing by the pool and catching up on rest which has been awesome, as well as taking full advantage of all the activities available in this amazing place. I should mention at this point that Thailand is VERY, VERY hot!!! We had expected it but not to this extreme! The temperature has been averaging at 40 during the day and only falls by about 5 degrees at night! Luckily, this is the end of their "hot" season so hopefully it'll be a bit cooler for the onward journey!
The highlights of Chiang Mai have been elephant riding, bamboo rafting, white water rafting, Thai massage and a Thai cooking course! The elephant riding was my personal favourite, as we got to be so close to the gorgeous animals and the little baby elephants were absolutely adorable! The Thai cooking course was also pretty amazing, with us cooking 6 dishes each which we promptly devoured afterwards. We also got a recipe book to take away with us so I shall be treating you all to Thai when we get home!
Chiang Mai itself is a pretty chilled out city and the locals are so friendly and always up for a laugh. I could honestly stay here forever........
