Study Abroad
Hey all,
We are back from Paris. We left Thursday after class. We arrived in Paris around 11:30 at night. We went to a pub for about 2 minutes and saw how expensive things were and then left. We went and got a sandwich and then went back to our hotel and went to bed.
In the morning on Friday we had a 3 hour bus tour of the city. Afterwards we found somewhere to eat and then went to a shopping center very similar to Harrods. You go up to the roof and see the city. That was fun. We walked around the city next and saw the Arc de Triumphe and the Concorde.
We went to the Louvre after six because it was free. We saw the pyramid, Mona Lisa, and the Venis de Milo among many other things. The Louvre is really big and really easy to get lost in.
After the Louvre we went to a cabaret show which was offered as an additional thing to do through our trip. It was really good and very funny...I am glad that we went. We went home and crashed afterwards.
On Satuday we went to Notre Dame. We walked around inside but did not pay to go up to the bell towers...the line was about an hour and a half long! After that we stopped at a cafe to have dessert and a coke. We walked around for a bit and were going to go to Sainte Chapelle but it was closed due to "security" issues. We walked along the river and through a flea market.
We had the option to go on a boat tour through our trip as well. We did that next. That was really nice. We got on as the sun was setting. The tour lasted a little over an hour. After that a few of us went out to eat. Most of us tried escargo (snail)...it was actually pretty good. After dinner we all went to sit under the Eiffel Tower. It is all lit up and night and "sparkles" every hour on the hour. We sat and enjoyed the view...others enjoyed the view with wine :) We caught the metro back to our hotel and called it a night.
This is our thought on Paris. Its a nice weekend trip but no need to stay longer or go back :) Oh and we thought London was expensive...Paris is even more expensive.
We enjoyed our weekend!
Love,
Craig and Audrey
