Another cloudy/rainy day. Attempted the incredibly confusing metro today ( I think we are slowly getting the hang of it- going back we made no mistakes!) went to the louvre... it was nice on the outside but for some unknown reason it was closed, so found the cutest cafe and had breakfast and headed to Norte - Dame. This area was exactly how I pictured Paris (our hostel area is very tight..) The church was amazing and we got to hear a mass. We than waited in line for about an hour to go up the tower of the Norte-Dame church- 485 STAIRS!!!! ( Brennin counted) and that's up 485 AND down 485 and not including our 121 hostel steps plus a zillion at the metro stops, give or take, SO MANY STAIRS!!! Needless to say our legs are jelly. The view however from the tower was amazing, I was able to see the Eiffel Tower for the first time and it finally sunk in that I am here !
The rest of the day we roamed the cute shops, saw where Marie Antoinette was in prison, saw cops in full uniform outside a big government building ( they were prepped to stop a protest if need be... didn't happen though...) went in some random churches, viewed shop windows and restaurants down the cutest streets. Found a chocolate shop- Macaroons are delicious.
Overall great day considering it was so windy and rainy out.
Tomorrows plan is the louvre , take 2.
Im very excited to see the art - this will probably take most of the day.

Rick Neumann sorry we took so long to reply because we had to watch the BIG PUPPY. He has only whined a little bit at your door but you can see the saddnes in his eyes. We miss you and it sounds like you are having fun stay safe and we will talk to you soon, Love Mom and your hard working father!
Jenise Wow sounds amazing! I think the architecture takes your breath away ...plus all the walking and stairs ;) it's weird to think that all that is everyday life for some people.
Diane Tuchscherer Sounds like so much fun. You are so lucky to have this once in a lifetime opportunity. Enjoy and stay safe. Love Auntie Diane
