Next morning we had a strange experience with the hotel reception calling on the radio for someone to check our that blasted "mini bar" fir use, eventually he got into the hotel car park and headed for the airport.
All checked in but unfortunately we could not get the luggage routed directly to hogine min city (shanghai) - but at Bangkok to save having to go through immigration to just collect our luggage off the carousel we arranged for Turkish airlines to collect it from Bangkok airlines staff for the outward trip to Vietnam.
On arrival into shanghai everything worked like clockwork with immigration (were seriously running out of rubber stamp space ) luggage and awaiting car.
On arrival at the intercontinental hotel was like arriving at Buckingham palace - what a hotel

The car later picked us up for a river cruse which was on a open deck with the buffet in the middle with entertainment which included a tirolean dancing (later we found that the guy who owns it Is Austrian
