Twenty-seven days later and our trip around South East Asia has come to an end.... We were up at silly o clock this morning to get to the airport for half 6. We had a Burger King breakfast at the airport (our last traditional Asian meal!) and boarded the plane, which left a little late. We slept for the first 4 hours and watched a film for the last couple of hours. It sounds pretty uneventful, but I had a giant Arabic man sat next to me, who took up some of my chair and leg room (well its not like I need it!), spilt red wine on me, then tried to wipe it off my bum, and farted several times, which was disgusting!! When we got off the plane though, he waved bye to me, which was nice, although we didn't have time to worry about that! Due to our first plane being delayed, our second plane had already started boarding! We got on the transfer bus, got to security, ran through to our gate (which was on the last call), jumped back on a transfer bus, and got on the plane, which happened to be the plane next to the one we'd just off! Oh well, back on the plane we watched another three thousand movies and tv episodes, and enjoyed a Cajun chicken meal. As plane food goes, Qatar do it quite well! So, 21 hours after we woke up, we got off the plane.... Tired and weary, everyone who got in our way was the worst person in the world, ever! Through our tired eyes anyway.... Sam and Chris met us at the airport, and we stopped off at Oxford services on the way back for a KFC, to finish as we started! When we got back to Si's mom's we had a cup of tea, proper tea! It was amazing after some of the rubbish tea I've been subjected to this trip! We collected some milk, bread and bacon from his mom, so excited for bacon sandwiches, that was the kindest thing anyone could have done for us at that point in time! We set off for Chester around ten, and it was the most difficult hour and a half ever! I was trying so hard to stay awake so that I could talk to Si, to keep him awake while he was driving, I don't know how he managed to stay awake the whole way (if he did....). Once at home, the neighbours had put some milk in our fridge for us, and sorted out our post from our newspapers and junk, how nice! Then, straight to bed for us, such an amazing feeling after some of the places we've slept in the past few months!
And that's the end of our South East Asia experience..... We have visited four amazing countries, ten amazing cities, and met too many amazing people to count! We've travelled on eight planes, three trains and god knows how many buses! We've got around on a dozen tuks tuks, two cyclos, a raft and an elephant! There have been some rubbish times, but so many more amazing times, there's nothing that we would change about anything we've done. It really has been the trip of a lifetime.
Thank you for following our blog, Si and Emma x x x
