"Wait," I know you´re all asking, "Peru? Aren´t these chicks supposed to be in Ecuador right now?"
Well, yes, our original plans were to travel down from Costa Rica and into Ecuador for almost 2 months. However, there´s been this itty bitty little issue at the moment, something about police starting riots and getting the military involved. Flames, chaos, pandemonium, etc. We were so ready to be part of the rebellion, but noooo, Quito had to go and close their airport while we were waiting to board our connecting flight there from Panama. Major bummer, we´re all about setting things on fire!
In all seriousness though, yes, Ecuador was/is having a bit of a political problem at the moment, so we changed our plans around rather drastically. Instead of spending a month in the Puyo area of Ecuador, we will now be volunteering at Eco Truly Park Village one hour outside of Lima, Peru, for 3 to 4 weeks before trekking it back up to the Galapagos.
If you get a chance, you all should definitely check out this park online. It´s absolutely amazing and we´re heading over there tomorrow as soon as we can to continue our volunteering adventure.
One really good thing that came out of this whole ordeal was that we made some excellent new friends, Sam and Greg, a married couple traveling around the world from the UK down to New Zealand where they are moving to. We´re having a lot of fun with them and it will be sad to part ways tomorrow!
Lima´s been absolutely amazing. This is my (Cindi) second time in Peru, but first time in Lima, and both of us are really surprised with how safe and comfortable we feel in the city. Also, the part we´re in is right on the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous. Look out for some more of Colleen´s fabulous photos in the near future!
Anyway, that´s all the exciting news for now. Stay tuned to hear all about our experiences at Eco Truly Park. And keep those comments coming, we´re beside ourselves with happiness from hearing from all of you!
Mucho amor a todos,
Cindi and Colleen

Grandpa It was a wise move going to Peru. (Although being part of a South American revolution could have been fun.) I taking off today for Ireland (alittle bit more civilized than Ecuador.) Stay safe. Love you.
