Hey ya'll!

As you may have seen already from the pictures, we rented bikes (extremely popular form of transportation in Amsterdam) today and followed the Amstel river out of the city. We wanted to see some of the countryside and this was recommended by our tour guide yesterday.

It was a beautiful ride down the river and we got to see some wild animals and farm animals along the way. We ended up in a town called Ouderkerk about 10 kilometers outside of Amsterdam. It was a quaint little place and we stopped there and had our lunch that we packed earlier today.

It was tough getting used to riding the bikes through the city. People here ride them with skirts and boots or high heels on, while talking on a cell phone. The traffic is crazy and consists of trams, bikes, cars, and people! We made it with no falls or crashes though.

We are leaving for Cologne, Germany tomorrow. We will update more when we get there!
