Rob and Jen bumming round the world for a bit
Hello all,
Not in Tahiti at all, those regular readers of my column will understand why it says that, others won't, but it doesn't matter in the slightest.
Suffice to say, we're in Chang Mai in northern Thailand. We arrived in Bangkok on the 7th, waited around for a couple of days and met up with Steve. After another couple of days in Bangkok we took the overnight bus for 11 hours up to Chang Mai. A day in the town was followed by a 3 day jungle trek from which we have just returned. I ,ust admit, despite the trekking being difficult in places, the trip was brilliant. We had a good group, no large groups within the main group, if you understand, just people in 1's, 2's and 3's, so everyone was getting involved in the banter. We stayed in a hill tribe village on the first night, in amoungst the locals and spent the second night in a camp. Today was action packed, involving some white water raftin and riding on elephants. Can't complain.
we're flying down to the south of the country tomorrow,in order to spend the last 2 weeks sitting by the pool and on the beach. Looking foward to getting back home now, i have to admit. Still enjoying myself, as is Jen, but as our return approaches i'm beginning to think of all the things i'm looking forward to on my return. Basically, we get back on Friday 2nd, so if anyone is free in the eve (Ed and Phil i imagine and perhaps Dave), does anyone fancy going for a massive curry at the Raj? If not, i'll go on my own.
See everyone soon,
Rob
