9:30am. I can understand the breakfast rule in hotels sometimes, but this time I'm on holiday. It's also Sunday. 9am is a ridiculous time to tidy all the breakfast away on the weekends. I would like some toast today. I'm watching the barmaid from last night set up all the breakfast table she's just cleared away, just so I can make myself some toast. She definitely hates us.
1pm: My legs are aching. I've been to London a lot but there's one thing I have never done here. Hire a bicycle and go for a little ride around Hyde Park. So that's what we've just done! These bikes look basic, you even get a nice little bell. Tasha led the way. I was convinced this bike would be the death of me. At one point a jogger overtook me, not a runner but a slow, Sunday jogger! I rang my bell a few times in a temper. How rude. I had to pull over and have a cig before bike rage got the better of me. That's when I noticed the stupid handles on this bike had gears and mine had been on the highest one. I'm not making excuses, I'm still too lazy for a bike but this made me feel a little bit better about being such a fat b******. Tasha was excited because a speed camera flashed as she pedalled passed it, I was more excited she nearly got stuck in all the horse poo. Hyde Park is nice though if you're into leaves and stuff.
After we left the park we were deciding what to do next when a Hop-On Hop-Off Tour bus pulled up. So we hopped on. I have paid for this tour 6 times now but I love London so why the hell not, lets go again. We found some great seats near the back of the bus and I was just getting my camera out when the driver announced it was time for his break so we'd all have to get off and wait for a new bus to continue the tour. I had a little 'Kevin And Perry' moment and thought 'Oh for God's sake!' and now we're just waiting. It's bloody cold so an open top bus is probably stupid but there's a bus stop full of stupid people with us.
3:30pm. Whenever I'm here I like to say hello to Queenie, and Ben and sometimes the Prime Minister. I don't really bother taking photos of the last one though. Ben is my favourite. I don't like the colour of him though, and I'm not really interested in the whole 'Ben is the bell not the tower' stuff. Parliament is a rubbish name. Ben is cooler.
I also love driving over Tower Bridge. I don't know why, I just kinda like bridges. We have to leave the tour again now, we haven't been thrown off this time though. We're going to meet Amy, well we will once we figure out how to get to her.
3:50pm. We're lost. We are confused with the tube stations, which is dumb and I made such a rookie mistake. We went to Tower Gateway, waited on the platform and looked at the train. it's going to Cyprus. This isn't right. We need to get to London Bridge.
10:00pm. Today has been a good day. We've been to Oxford Street and seen the Christmas lights, we saw Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus and stopped at Marble Arch on our way to Hyde Park. Amy took us to Covent Garden. We went for pie and mash in a tiny restaurant where Kiefer Sutherland had been for tea once and now we are back in the hostel. I'm tired but can't sleep. I'm nervous about flying, but so so excited about the thought of being in New York tomorrow! Tasha started a crossword puzzle.
"Do you wanna help?" "OK but I'm not very good, if it's 3 letters I'll know, it's cat or dog". "No, it could be pig or rat or hen". "… Oh yeah".
Lights out.
