We moved to our second Island Nacula. It was just over the way from Tavewa, still in the Yasawa group, but couldn't be more different! It was much larger and had a permanant population of around 2500people. There were much bigger resorts on the Island - with bars much to Jims delight! Our resort however was still very small - but very nice. It was called Nalova Bay, but was next to one of the Main resorts so we could sneak over there to the bar. Our Bure was gorgeous and set right on the beach, the views were amazing. The best thing about our resort was they served all your meals, including afternoon tea on your own porch. So every meal was very romantic, looking out onto the beach. The only downside was that we had NO electricity all week, the generator was broken - all is taken back about the tourchs Clares mum got us for Christmas, they came in very handy indeed! So again most days were spent relaxing on the beach and reading in hammocks. We were a bit more active though as there was great snorkling right infront of our bure. We often went out, the locals had also started to grow coral gardens to replace dead coral so was interesting to see them and there were tons of fish too. The beach here was great, much nicer sand than Tavewa, so we managed to get in tons of sunbathing. There was a great sunset view from the Beach so every night we would take a sunset stroll down the beach. On an evening we would pop over to the next resort, Oarsmans Bay, and have a few drinks there. They put on Fiji nights where the staff would hand out Flower Garlands then perform local songs. The staff would then drag everybody - even Jim - up for local dances. Was great fun and was very impressive to see that they were all great performers. After six days we said our goodbyes to the staff and headed back down to the mainland again to stay at Smugglers Cove before our 20hour marathon to Japan the next day! We had a very relaxing time in Fiji... bring on Tokyo.
