Clare was eventually discharged at about 8.45am (after ringing the bell every 5 minutes and making a fuss about needing to get the boat!) We got on the boat to Koh Phangan to join Kevin, Katie and Jess who had arrived the day before. The sea had originally looked calm but we were soon to find this was not the case as we spent the next hour and a half on the boat ride from hell!
We settled into our accommodation (2 double beds pushed together for 5 people!..Helen slept on the crack) The weather was miserable, raining constantly and our choice of location wasn't great. All being said we had a fantastic time and managed 2 nights out on Haad Rin beach, one of which was the full Moon party. This was an amazing experience, dancing with thousands of people on a beach until sunrise, and thankfully the rain held off for us! There were 2 people we wanted to meet up with at Full Moon, Clare's cousin and Lisa, one of Kevin's friends we'd met on Koh Tao. Bizarrely, we didn't manage to meet either of them but seemed to bump into every other person we'd met in Thailand and Helen's dissertation partner from university! Aside from Full Moon, the major highlight were the pancakes from Mr K's Pancake stall….Helen indulged herself with nutella, twix and ice cream (funny for someone who doesn't like chocolate!) whilst Clare had pineapple, nutella and ice cream….a little piece of heaven!
Despite being in awesome company and having a great few days we were looking forward to island hopping to Koh Phi Phi with Jess and Katie…..
