Again this blog thing really isn't working out as I had planned!... So on route to Phuket continued lol! After my rather amusing boat trip I prepared myself for the 6 or more hour bus journey ahead.. I was feeling rather optimistic as I thought that it would just be a chance to read, listen to music n stare out the window at Thai people and their families on their little motorised scooters lol! Turns out I was wrong to be so optimistic... The coach should have been more accurately advertised as " SHED on wheels ". Where do I begin.. The seats just about existed with upholstery that was torn to shreds. The windows.. well if you had leaned on one to fall asleep, chances are you'd have ended up pushing the glass out of it's frame..the curtains looked like the veil of a corpse bride and to top it all off.. It's air conditioning was provided by the fact that it had no door HA! Fortunately this wasn't the bus we were to spend 6 hours on, it wouldn't have been legal surely! We were dropped off at a bus station/ a hut with old parts of dishevelled coaches and waited until we were all loaded onto another bus which was slightly better n had real air conditioning this time! Got myself all comfy n opened my book n then we stopped again! Turns out that this wasn't the last stop either so we paid an extra 200 baht to get a minibus all the way there! £12 for a ticket to Phuket really was too good to be true! We eventually arrived.. About 2 hours later than planned, after having stopped off at a tourist information place to try fob us off with real expensive hotels! When we got there we set off on our mission to find somewhere other than the beach to sleep n luckily came across a right gem.. £20 a night so £10 each, quite expensive considering our usual £5 a night limit but we decided to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury! The place had tv n everything oh and included a buffet breakfast! I left the lads that night while they went to go and see ping pong show (eugh) and took full advantage of the luxury.I stayed in and pampered myself.. ( bringing my straightener wasn't a total mistake) before finding myself a nice little Italian down the road where i treated myself to an expensive yet peaceful meal for one and loved every sencond of it! Meanwhile the lads were knee deep in torrential rain.. Literally! HA!! The luxury continued the morning after n I got my continental breakfast, seasonal melon
and freshly squeezed orange juice included lol!
Luxury was short lived as the next 2 nights were spent in a dorm on bunkbeds! Wasn't all that bad, free tea n coffee downstairs lol! Went to see a show called Phuket Fantasea (google it) it was AMAZING! Cost us £30 but got a Thai buffet included in this stunning food hall that could even rival cruises! There was a theme park kind of thing built around this show, not with rides but like little craft markets, and a sort of animal kingdom! Saw a white tiger.. Snakes n everything! Stroked an elephant, felt weird! The show was like a .. Cultural ballet..using music n dance with acting to tell a story of Thailand but It also had magic etc n about 15 elephants on stage at one point doing tricks!!
Anyways will update soon people
