Ah, a month in Thailand has gone so quickly! The last few days have been really special and really sad! All of the teachers at our school have taken us for a lovely meal! The principle and her husband have actually taken us for a meal a few times. They have been really good to us!Our second to last day at school was like a parent’s day. All of the parent’s where invited to meet us and see what their children had learned during our month there! They made boards displaying their work, and pictures of the month and all these little cards and letters they had done for us! They performed Thai dancing for us, and even some of the locals danced for us. There where these 5 ladies who did a performance, between the 5 of them they were 400 years old. That was quite a show! At the end of the parent’s day we were asked to stand at the front and each child and some of their parent came up in turn and gave us a gift! I got lots of nice things and loads of letters and cards etc. It was really sad, some of the children were crying. I was holding it together, I didn’t cry, but then the principle did a speech and she was crying so that started us all off! The teachers had all clubbed together and bought us a beautiful skirt each, it was so nice, but so sad!We celebrated my last night in Chumpon at Pe Nongs bar, as per usual! I was the first to leave, the others where all a day or 2 behind me, except for Anna. It was a crazy night, lots of Sang Som, lots of dancing and singing, it was class! We made friends with a guy called Stephan who was in Chumpon starting a new Kite surfing school. He was a cool guy, he drank with us most nights!
The total experience in Thailand has just been amazing. I have been so lucky to see what I’ve seen! I’m very sad to leave........BUT.......Australia here I come!!!!!!!!
