It's Goodbye to Singapore!
Well the past week has certainly flown by!We left you wanting more on the night we went off to the famous Raffles hotel where we enjoyed original Singapore slings...yummy!It's the hotels tradition when eating peanuts you must throw the shells on the floor. When you walk in, all you could hear was the crunching of the shells on the floor. When throwing the shells on the floor, we couldn't help but feel naughty and expect the staff to throw us out! We headed over to Chijmes for a meal and we ate at Carnivore, a Brazilian all you can eat restaurant. It was a unique experience as the chefs lined up at your table with different meats ready to slice in onto our plates. We were even given a sign which said 'more please' or 'no thanks' to indicate if you wanted more or not. We are contemplating on opening one in Aberdeen as I know we all like our meat lol!
The following day, we had a ridiculously busy morning by the pool...soaking up the sun and working on our tans! After that exhausting task, we ended back at Chinatown for some lunch along food street and more shopping.Claire and I both agreed that it was the finest Chinese we have ever had to date!
Later in the evening we headed to the Singapore Zoo Night Safari which we had been looking forward to all day!It was an experience and a half. While on the tram, after several announcements to turn off the flashes on our cameras, one tourist was stupid enough to keep theirs on and took a picture of a lion. The lion looked up in a second flat. The one creature you don't want to wake up...is a lion! Don't mess with a Lion!We then watched the Creatures of the Night Presentation in which gave us the biggest laugh of all. They apparently "lost" an animal.Of course we didn't believe it...lol.This lost animal turns out to be a fully grown boa constrictor which was conveniently found underneath a trap door where a bunch of Japanese tourists were sitting; they weren't too impressed and left.We ended the night by watching the Thumbuakar fire breathers and they were ridiculously impressive (and hot...literally), we've never seen a show like it!
That leads up to our last day in wonderful Singapore. We have finished packing all our things, have chilled out all afternoon by the pool and now are away to head out for dinner and a possible trip to one of Singapore's tallest hotel/casino buildings down by the marina to see one last view of Singapore before we leave on a jet plane to Perth, where we will spend the next 3 weeks of carnage (Gillian's word of choice, not Claire's) with Kyle!
Photos are coming to a blog near you!
Miss you all lots and lots,
Claire & Gillian
