Hello from Singapore!
How are things back in good old UK...we hope it's raining?
Well before I even start I must say one thing....we hadn't even left Britain yet and Claire was getting chatted up by Jonathan the waiter at TGI'S in terminal 3....lol!
The flight was a breeze.Lots of movies to choose from, great service (loads of food....bonus), the 12 hours just seemed to fly by and we didn't lose our luggage...I swear the luck was with us!We made it to Singapore in one piece!Got to our hotel (The Park Hotel, Clarke Quay) at about 9am, our room looks out over the pool! After a good few hours' sleep and a shower we felt brand new and ready to stumble out into Singapore nightlife! We walked around Clarke Quay, a small open complex at the waterfront with tones of bars, restaurants and more bars and honestly we have never seen anything like it! It's so colourful here unlike Aberdeen. The lights are so spectacular! However the very exotic three Scottish gals end up at the Highlander restaurant and pub for our first meal.Don't worry we ended the night in style with 1 cocktail! After thinking we had one amazing night sleep, to discover we had only slept 5 hours, we were wide awake at 2am in the morning. At this moment in time, still feeling rather jet lagged...we have been going strong!!
Already here in Singapore we have made it down to Chinatown for a bit of shopping....and they will do anything to tempt you into their shops, even referring to me, Gillian and Laura as Charlie's Angels to try get us to buy some tat jewellery.Yesterday, in the boiling heat we walked around the Singapore botanical gardens and went to the famous Orchid garden which was beautiful but due to the heat made the day a bit uncomfortable.I must say Gillian powered on whilst me and Laura lagged behind, stopping at every bench and ice cream parlour.Yes we are going to Australia!I did my scientist part and went to the evolution gardens and got to ramble off my endless knowledge haha!Last night we went on the largest observation wheel, the Singapore Flyer which was incredible. We timed it right so we saw the sunset and the city all lit up!It was for sure the highlight of the holiday so far.
So this brings us up to the present day...in which all afternoon we have been lying by the pool. What a tough life it is!We are getting ready for our night out and the famous Raffles hotel where we will enjoy our Singapore sling and over to Chijmes for a meal.We are slowly running out of days already!Tomorrow we are booked on the Singapore zoo night safari, so we are really looking forward to that!
Our photos will be up soon for you do be jealous of and all that's left to say is that we miss you all already!
Lots of Love
Claire and Gillian
