Woke up this morning to another cloudy day in Bangkok, but this time it was raining. Not your piddly little showers that we get at home, this was monsoon rain - pretty cool really!
Didn't really do much during the day as we had to check out of our guest house as we are leaving for Chiang Mai tonight. We did however go to the Vietnam embassy to arrange our visas for when we go over there in a couple of weeks. We also got our YHA cards for Australia, saving us about ?15 by getting them over here instead of England!
After wandering round the city for a bit we landed at Hard Rock Cafe for a glass of water and a coke - these 2 small drinks ended up costing us double the price than our 2 dishes of duck and beef, 2 fried rice and 2 cokes that we had for our lunch from a Thai cafe.
As the evening came closer, David started to panic about getting to the train station on time for our 19:35 train to Chiang Mai, so we set off giving a good 2 hours in advance...after a 5 minute white knuckle hold on for dear life tuk-tuk ride we were at the hot stuffy train station with one hour and 55 minutes to do b***** all!
We're now waiting to board our cabin, which we are sharing with 40 other people - not too sure on how we'll sleep!
Again, we've had a good time in Bangkok, but are both glad to be leaving.
