We had heard amazing things about this zoo so decided to check it out! It was soooo far out of town we still weren't there two hours after leaving Buenos Aires! We really did start questionning whether it was worth it!
When we finally arrived we were sure we must have come to the wrong place! It was so wierd! Not like your standard zoo at home but then again it isnt a standard zoo! But everything was set out really wierd and they actually didnt have a lot of animals in there!
So we wandered around and WOW! We could go into the enclosures with the animals! It was AMAZING!!
First we went into the Tiger enclosure and wierdly i wasnt at all nervous.. No idea why i was about to go in a cage with three HUGE Tigers and touch them! But it was incredible! We were sooo lucky with our photo we had all three come and lie down right at the moment we went into the cage so we had the best photos ever!! We even got to feed one milk and it licked my hand! It felt sooo WIERD!! Its tongue was a little like sandpaper and he lapped it up! At one point i forgot to keep squeezing the milk onto my hand.. Bad move because if theres no milk he might have nibbled me instead!! Ha!
After the Tigers we headed straight for the baby Lions! They were soo CUTE! About 1-3 years i think.. And they were BIG even for that age, their paws were massive! We got to have another few photos with them, but it was more fun to watch them play with each other!! But the wierdest thing about all of this is that they have dogs in the cages with the animals.. Not like the big big tigers and lions but the babys they do.. Just ordinary dogs and they also play with them! The dogs always came off worst! Haha!
We then wandered over to the Elephants and fed them, it was the scariest thing! We had to sand with our backs to them and just hold up a banana and they would take it but you couldnt see them (posing for photos) so they took you by surprise every single time! Tom actually dropped his banana in shock! Haha!
We then went to the BROWN BEARS! Tom was loving life! I wasnt, they were a bit too big! I mean its a BEAR! And the woman was like aww yeah just feed it.. YEAAAHHHH ok then! Ha! We did it but it was the scarest bit i think! The woman kept shouting (in spanish- always useful) to move your hand well away after you dropped the food into its mouth! Otherwise i seriously think it would have eaten your hand!
After this we calmed the action down a bit and went in with the alpha Lion! Haha! He was the BIGGEST thing i have ever seen! And he looked INCREDIBLE! Soooo fluffy and cute! Again we got incredibly lucky with our photo, he lay down right when we went in there..! Perfect! So we posed abit with the Lion, who the guy told us was called Allan! Haha! I renamed him Mustafa! Much more fitting!
So that was our day out at the Zoo! Some might say the Zoo's in Argentina are ever so slightly BETTER than your average UK zoo! Haha! Overal it was one of the best days of my life! Theres been quite a few of these days on this trip but this was really really incredible! AMAZEBALLS!
Speak soon! Muchos love.
