well were back in christchurch, this time to stay for 2 nights. were at the hotel ibis, fairly basic and dad keeps whinging about things it doesnt hav and how crappy it is. but it is only a 3 star hotel. what do u expect? but today we drove back from kaikoura and got to christ church round 1-130. we went to the gondola which wasnt operating at the time because of high winds. it was very blowy and the good weather has disappear. today it was blowing a gale, rain at times and has ranged from around 10-15 degrees. quite nippy. after bout 20 minutes we were able to go up on the gondola which was still blowing around a bit. it was fairly overcast so the views werent the best but it was still quite spetacular. after that we checked into our hotel. we relaxed for a little while and had a cuppa before heading out into the cold again to sight see. we wandered through cathedral sqaure and had a look into the cathedral and wandered along the river avon for a while where the poor ducies were quite cold and huddleing with their heads under their wings unless they waddled over to see if we had bread. we got chinese takeaway on the way back to the hotel and thats about it. tomorrow we plan to go to the international antartic centre which im really looking forward to. then we pick the relies up from the airport and continue our holdiay with them. talk again soon. luv kt
