Boracay, please not Bora! This slogan is on posters all over Boracay after their president mistakenly called it Bora and not Boracay, which is considered a faux pas by local residents because they think the wide use of “Bora” could be detrimental to the tourism industry as tourists may get it mixed up with Bora Bora. Ive never been there but Boracay is beautiful and i would highly recommend it! After a long search and with some help from some friendly locals we eventually settled on a place not too far from the beach with air con and tv, both of which we don't use too much, but nice to have waiting for you after a long day at the beach . We arrived after dark so it wasn't until the next morning when we got to see the crystal clear water and the spotless white sand beach! We took these last few days to unwind and reflect on the incredible journey we just traveled! We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, the food, San Miguel beer, and of course each others company. On our second last day Kayla and Sims family arrived on the island and we met up for a visit and then a couple of drinks.
After 7 countries, 13 flights, over a dozen ferry rides, tons of scary bus rides, lots of salt water, and 99 days (which seemed like what would be forever) and we are still getting along and could easily do another 99 days! We couldn't have picked better travel companions and we wouldn't change a thing (besides staying longer)! But all good things must come to an end and so here we are at the airport heading home.....I guess it's true that "time flys when you're having fun!!" This has been such an amazing journey together and we are going to miss the beaches, the food, the sights, the people, watching Bridesmaids (sometimes twice in a day) but most of all, we'll miss eachother! My cousin, my friend! This trip has bonded us in a way we never imagined! We will never forget it...And we look forward to reminiscing over the years and creating many many more new awesome memories! Love you! Sanasa.......sanasa!!!
And so that concludes the CKDOSEA blog! We hope you all enjoyed following along and we are excited to share more stories and pictures with you all back in Canada.
Peace out!
