Paradise..... It does exist! We had decided to skip the east coast of Malaysia due to the fact that monsoon season was just ending, but after talking with some locals we thought - lets give it a try. And we are so grateful that we did! 6 days on the "small" Perhentian island was absolutely blissful. Our cozy little chalet was nestled in the trees on a hill top with one lizard's home just outside our front door. During the day we relaxed on the beach and spent copious amounts of time cooling off in the crystal clear teal waters of the south china sea, a sight that will be embedded into our minds forever!!! We spent one day on an amazing snorkeling trip, where I finally found Nemo! We swam alongside 2 meter long black tip reef sharks and watched sweet turtles chillin on the bottom of the ocean floor. Just when we thought this day couldn't get any better we were taken to Turtle beach to relax for a half hour.... Ohh my gosh....this place is heaven on earth. Like a screen saver, or the cover of a magazine. The damp sand, as Karli put it, was the texture of " butter and sugar mixed together before you add the egg" when making cookies. It was the most beautiful white sand beach surrounded by lush tropical green forest and the most perfect clear blue water!!!! We decided quickly that a half hour was not enough so the next morning we hired a water taxi to bring us back and asked them to pick us up at 5 pm. We spent the day completely alone in paradise!!!! The beach is divided in two, and throughout the day a few people came and went on the other side but for some reason no one ventured to our side of the beach, fine by us! ( It was probably the fact that we were attempting to rid our selves of tan lines...Hee hee). It was very hard leaving this beautiful place, but time is running out so its off to Kuala Lumpur for a quick visit then we catch a flight to Bali!
