Ridiculously early 6.20 departure to take a bus ride to the Mekong Delta. Should have had a lie in. Boat ride, rice paper making, salt making. The only exiting adventure was drinking snake wine but I wouldn't reccomend buyng any unless you need some really strong cleaning fluid.
Decided to try to purchase a pair of trousers as the Vietnamese people are small I thought I would be in with a good chance of finding some to fit. Having entered a shop I was approached by the shopkeeper who kindly asked what would I like. I responded saying I wished to buy a pair of trousers for me size small. She then looked me up and down in disgust and said rather abruptley 'you are NOT small you are MEDIUM'. Obviously I had put on 5 stone extra that I was unaware.

High class dinning today. I managed to find cornflakes for breakfast and then a baked potato for lunch. This was better than winning the lottery - there is only so much rice and noodles one person can have.
6 hours bus ride to Phom Penh in Cambodia. HOT HOT HOT. Good job when we went on our cyclo tour of the city the 97 year old man did the cycling and I just had to sit there taking photos of the scenery.

A very sombre day. A visit to the killing fields was interesting but disturbing. No photos taken please google if info required.

7 hour drive from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap allowed us to enjoy a short pee stop at a small village and consume a lovely snack of deep fried spider, crickets and frogs mmmmm. Where was Ronald McDonald when you needed him. The sider actually tasted better than some of the other dishes I have eaten ober the last 28 days but not on my list of top ten favourites.

A 5.15am departure from the hotel to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat. Ufnfortunately I was up and sitting on a rock waiting for the spectacular sunrise however someone had forgotten to wake the sun up and remove the clouds so a quick 2 minute glimpse was all I got. Then a 6 hour guided tour around Angkow Wat. As interesting as it was I did feel that I had built the place myself by the end of the day. Very tired day but still managed to find some energy to check out the night market - can't leave without purchasing some bargains which included a Gucci watch for $10. Whilst browsing the size small Tshirts at a market stalll the lady kindly informed me that she had some for sale in LARGE. Wow I am putting on weight like nobodys business. I won't recognise myself soon.

Flippin eck - no lie ins for me - started the day bright and early with a 5am Skype call (to my lovley friends who insist on me being up at this time - for punishment I think), breakfast and a quick trip around another pile of rocks at Angkor Wat which is more famously know from Tomb Raider (obviously Angelina Jolie wasn't there as she was busy looking after the kids). Followed by a free afternoon for shopping

Another long day on our bus 2.5 hours to the Thai border and a further 3 hours to reach our Bangkok hotel arriving just in time to purchase a lovely new pair of jeans ready for the finale dinner.

That's the first leg of my 'holiday' completed without injury, disater or illness.
I am now able to pass for a local in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Camobia with my thorough understanding of their language.
I am now off to Ko Samui (Thai beach island) for 11 days to recover from my gruelling trip and to re-charge my batteries ready to help the organutans at their rehabilitation centres in Kuching, Borneo.
WARNING - Do not read the next 2 weeks installments if you are easily offended
The blog notes are most likely to be cocktail reciepes, drunken ramblings and photos of white sandy beaches and blue sea.
