Stephanie and Ray Rondy Wedding!
Left Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend for the Petoskey area for the wedding of Stephanie Havenstein, Tammy's daughter, and Ray Rondy. Took the two lanes all the way up, just for the fun of it, and stopped at any number of flea markets, garage sales, and "pickin'" spots. Managed to not acquire too much stuff to haul home.
Stayed Saturday night at the Econo Lodge in Petoskey, had dinner at a cool old Victorian-looking place called Stafford's Bay View Inn, did a little casino time at Owadin.
Sunday was the wedding day, but we killed time taking a drive through the trail of trees north of Harbor Springs - a one-and-a-half lane road loaded with about two thousand folks on bicycles heading the other way! Went to Bar Harbor in Harbor Springs for lunch, then to the Super 8 in Bay Harbor to get ready for the main event of the weekend.
The wedding was on the beach, beat the rain by mere minutes, and the reception was held at the Bay Harbor Convention Center. A fine time was had by all.
We left Monday morning, and again took the two lanes all the way home, this time wishing to avoid the Labor Day 500 on I-75 all the way home. Still managed to get pinched in traffic around Standish, but got to see parts of the state we don't normally get through
