I thought I'd take a bit of time out from the baking hot sun to update.

Bangkok was great. I only spent a few nights there whilst waiting for Louise (the missus) and her friends to fly in.

We took a taxi to Patpong (the red light district) for a bit of fun. The cheeky taxi driver kept laughing and saying 'Patpong ping pong!' and tried to drop us off at some dodgy back alley nightclub. I've seen Hostel, and insisted that he take us somewhere a bit more public. I won't go in to much detail, but I found the place pretty horrible and seedy. We sat at a bar and had a few beers to muster up the courage to go to a 'show', whilst watching lots of dirty old men find their true loves. We then went to a club for about 5 minutes before deciding that Patpong is cockney rhyming slang for 'wrong'. Enough said.

I thought it would be romantic to go and meet Louise at the airport and decided to take public transport. The train left late, stopped at just about every single destination and then dumped me in the middle of nowhere on the tracks! I then had to get a bus, followed by a shuttle bus to the (new) airport. Romance sucks.

Next stop, Koh Lanta via Krabi...
