Day 1 - travel day

Up and at em' at 3:30 this morning. As we arrived at YYC at 5am. An upgrade to first class seemed liked a good idea. Why the heck not? We are on our honeymoon anyways. Turns out it was a good idea as my luggage was 16 pounds over the limit for economy :| Who knew first class was allowed 20 pounds more than economy?

Arrived 50 minutes EARLY to Houston so a few bevies at the airport was the obvious thing to do. As we boarded the plane we met a few other couples who has also found their way to pub and just happened to be sitting next to us. Turns out that was alright as they paid for our drinks during the whole flight :)

We stepped off the plane at 3pm to a balmy Belize city day. After collecting our luggage we were asked if we would like a porter to our next connecting flight. Sure why not? Well a short 10 steps later around the corner and there it was. Riiiight. Best $5 bucks ever :|

Anyways, we walk out back to the runway to find our little 10 seated plane to take us to San Pedro. Awesome! View was spectacular over the green and blue waters. If you looked closely you could see some sort of marine animals jumping out if the water. Dolphins perhaps?

A short 30 minutes later and we arrived at our destination. San Pedro on Ambergris Caye Island. I sat with the luggage as Neil rented us a golf cart (which is the choice mode of transportation here) and off we went to find our house. Which we did not have much of an idea were to go...but low and behold we found our way somehow? We also managed to find a beer store on the way :)

So we are now settled into our home for the next three weeks. An evening with a few beers, Belize California rolls and crab curry did us in. Bed time 9pm.
