We started early today and hit the subway to go to the Brooklyn Bridge. To fuel up for our walk we had a Belgian waffle for breakfast. The walk across the bridge is about 25 minutes one way and has some spectacular views of the City.
Of all the people in this City who did we bump into on the bridge - Kevin, Maree, Anne and Geoff!!! Talk about a small world...
After our walk we returned to Times Square and bought some tickets to the matinee session of Rock Of Ages which we will go to this afternoon.
Another quick shopping spree - including having to buy an additional suitcase to get our stuff back home - and we are ready to go to the show.
We have become quite the locals around the City now and we are very familiar with both the subway and finding our way around the streets.
If visiting New York you must use he subway - easy to find and get around and each ride is only$2.25 - you can buy a weekly ticket which would be even cheaper again. It really is the only way to get around.....
Rock of Ages was a great show - Nadeen loved it - I would have enjoyed it more except for the two people sitting next to me who thought they knew the words of every song except they couldn't sing!!!!
Tried to get tickets to Phantom of the Opera but the queue was too long.
Ended up at the Australian Bar for a couple of farewell drinks then onto the Croton bar for one more cocktail.....
This could be our swan song for NY - we have loved every minute here!!
Went to Scallywags for our final final drink here in NY and would you believe there was a guy playing Irish songs - including the Streets of New York -
We had a private concert and Steve the vocalist played us every song we wanted to hear.... Including Galway Girls just for Nadeen...
Marcus shouted us a couple of drinks and whilst we said we were only going there for one drink we ended up having at least half a dozen....
what a way to finish our time here!!!
Early start tomorrow we have a car booked for 6am to take us to the airport in the morning.
Look out the Caribbean here we come.... Forget about Hurricane Sandy, here comes Nadeen and Chris!!!!!
