Karin and I made it to the farm safely and it is wonderful. The family was so welcoming and made us feel instantly comfortable. They have two kids, 6 and 9, a German exchange student, and the grandparents live on the property in the original settlers' house from 1860. The property is on a peninsula just south of Auckland so we are surround…

Glad I got the details about the hike on Skype, even more dramatic in the written word when it is written by you. Hope you are having a ball in Queenstown with Mom, hope you won't mind going a 3rd time in November. We love and miss you, Dad and Char

Christie - I have been following your adventure and can say that you have certainly made the most of opportinity! You have made so many friends, seen so many places and experienced the local culture in each place.Your pictures have been absolutely breath-taking. I agree with your assessment that grades in your studies are not nearly as important as the experienece and since it's just pass/fail I know you will do well. We missed you at the lake this summer but we know you were here in spirit and you were in our hearts all weekend. We are so happy for you and look forward to seeing you after your return! All my love, Aunt Nancy

Your funny honey :-) I was laughing about the roundabout story...but it sounds like the destination was amazingly memorable. Nice job taking the lead on the camp site (as opposed to the lead on the roundabouts). Scenery and experience as always seems...well, extraordinary. Have fun in Samoa, Happy 22nd BD!!
