Not much in the way of activities to report on on our return to the North Island via the Picton Ferry...we made our way back up on the Magic Bus with severe dents in our pockets, so mostly it was just one big bus journey back to Auckland, view a nights stay in Wellington, Naipier and then Mount Manganui.
On our return to Auckland, Suzie, Ed and I decided to make our way up to the Bay of Islands, which was meant to be a really beautiful part of New Zealand, while Kerry stayed in Auckland. Unfortunately it was only for one night, so we had to make the most of our time there. The weather was actually pretty nice for a change, cos it has been rather nippy in some places. After a pretty long bus journey up, we settled into our hostel around 4ish, where we met this girl called Caroline. We decided to take up the Hostel BBQ offer and chilled in the bar for a while...it had a guitar there and I played signigficantly for the first time in ages...ive missed it so much...we then headed down to the local bar, where there were a few bar games going on. Ed ended up winnn the scavenger hunt and secruing himself a free bungy at Auckland Bridge...while we all took part in the Killer Pool Competition...to my utter disbelief, I held my nerves and ended up winning. My prizes were, $15 in cash...50% off a Sky dive, which i sold for $60 and a couple of parasailing offers, which I gave away (felt good to do a nice deed, after getting so much free stuff on my travels...good karma)...Ed and I decided to flex our B.L.A.P voices on the unsuspecting locals in the Kareoke. I was on a natural winning high, so I blasted out Song 2 by Blur...I was rocking away, with a mighty slide across the dancfloor, innappropriate gyrating of the hips while headbanging and then finished off with a twirl round the pole...i even got an ovation for my efforts. Ed then finished the night with an awesome rendition of Britney Spears' career making hit...Hit me Baby one more time...B.L.A.P had gone well and truly international...!!!
The following morning, after a well deserved lie-in...we made our way to Adventure World, where we decided to cash in on our 3-2 Mini Golf voucher (not sure how we won that one...!) It was an Anglo-Anglo-Asian Cup...but I was well and truly out of the running after a couple of holes ending up a pathetic 15holes behind the eventual winner Ed...although Suzie put up an awesome fight, claiming she was rubbish like a true hustler.
We made our way back to Auckland for our last night as a foursome...Suzie did her grandma thing and went out of her way to cook us an awesome roast dinner...i dont think even Gordon Ramsey himself couldve done a better job in a hostel kitchen...she slaved away for 4hours help from me (tho i get the distinct feeling i was getting in the way lol), but it was amazing in the end...a proper meal after all those take aways...such an amazing gesture from a really cool person.
