We finally made it to Taiwan! Our flight was 2 hours from Shanghai and a little bumby. We flew over a typhoon and the plane got banged around a bit, but we are here.

Our first night we went for dinner at Dozo, a trendy Japanese restaurant. The food was great and the beer was better. They bring you draft by a 5 liter cylinder with a tap. While we dinned on sushi, squid, and okonomiyaki, Japanese drummers performed all around. The atmosphere was amazing.

The next couple days we spent exploring around Angie's community and the northen coast of taiwan. We also enjoyed the markets, restaurants, and practiced ordering breakfast in chinese. We visited a beach with black volcanic sand and went for a walk, but the weather was turning ugly. Since a typhoon was passing by the island, we couldn't get into the water.

So tomorrow we head south to Kenting, a beautiful white sandy beach at the southern tip of the island. We might stay in Kaohsiung for a couple days, we will decide once we are in the south. Hopefully we will have another update in a few days.
