Hi there everyone!
Firstly thanks for all the messages posted on my Blog, its nice to get to know you are keeping up to date on my experiences. So its tuesday evening, I am sat writing this whilst watching a bit of television with a nice cuppa. This week is a busy week at work as I am finishing off one project whilst starting another one, and I am meant to be 100% on both! lol. Thats the way it is, hopefully it will all calm down in the next few weeks.
Well I guess some of you have seen a few photos for HK, but I have to say I have had Camera issues so have not been able to take as many photos as I would like, I am planning to buy a new one asap as I am missing all the action that is going on! So Hong Kong, what a place. I left work early on friday just incase of traffic and managed to get there 4 hours before my flight was due to leave, haha. It too me about 45 mins to check in and then immigration stopped me so I thought I was nearly going to miss the flight, well it turns out that an airline company (which I wont name on here) is extremely delayed all the time, so I left 1.5 hrs after I was scheduled too! Also I had exactly the same delay on the way back.
So when I finally got to the airport in HK, Jen had been waiting forever, and Heather and James were also there. I had a nice reception. we didnt get back to our hotel until about 12pm and then we were all hungry. We ended up at 7/11 for a sandwich and some crisps, for those of you from the UK who have not heard of it, its like a costcutter type place, but smaller. Saturday was filled with sightseeing and taking in the atmosphere, along with some shopping of course. It was unfortunate it was so cloudy as we didnt do the main peak to see the views, always an excuse to go back though.
We did however, make a trip to the 4th highest bar in the world (so I am told) which is also the same building that DB in HK is based. Yes it was 120 floors in the air, and all we could see was clouds, haha, the cocktails were way over priced, but worth it for the novelty. Then we made a trip to see the light and music show which happens every day, its was cool, and I would recommend making sure you can also hear the music as it is VERY impressive how in time it all is.
So after a trip to the hotel to clean up we all got our glad rags on for a night in HK. This started out as a civilised drink, and slowly moved to me downing beer at the end of the night, and no I cannot remember doing that, though I did specifically tell my friends NOT to let me do that.. haha. I also seem to remember a LOT of dancing, and a lot of people as well as some kind of vodka jelly syringe thing, and if you look on FB you will see me tagged in some of the shots. All I can say is that I was very hungover on the sunday, hence the Blog title, I couldnt even eat the VERY expensive brunch I had purchased, it was the Burger King at the airport that sorted me out.
So overall, my view of HK - its crazy! I loved it for the time I was there, but I have to say I enjoyed coming back to Manila to the friendly people and more relaxed atmosphere. I think I am going to find it hard to come back to the UK. In the Philippines, everyone says hi to you, they are so polite.
I would have to say I recommend the Philippines to anyone, my experiences so far have beem amazing and its going so quickly. Also if anyone wants to come and crash with me the invite is open. So plan for next week is more sunbathing, I need to work on this tan before I get back to the UK!
So hope all is well, a lot has changed whilst I have been gone, such as babies and marriage and engagements. I will be back with you all before you know it.
Take care!
Love Chris
Over and out!
