YOU DON'T NEED EYES TO SEE YOU NEED VISION.....
In order to reach Machu Picchu for sunrise we had to get up at 3.30am. This part of the tour was optional but having trekked 25 miles upwards and completed 3 mountains in 3 days I wanted to complete the challenge. Setting off at 4am we walked in silence and complete darkness along the railway track before we began to climb.
As we climbed, a dog came from nowhere and climbed with us, most odd, he wasn't even scrounging for food, it was like he just wanted the company, so I had a little chat with him....
We climbed for 2 hours and reached Machu Picchu just before the area opened to the public. It was amazing. I was sweaty, stinking and very tired but the view was magnificant and unforgettable.
The rest of the day was spent pottering around the National Park until we decended for lunch and the 1st beer in a while. It was sweet. A beer coupled with a quick blast of Éye of the Tiger' and it was like being down town Swindon in a second......
Today has been spent washing my minging clothes, catching up on emails and downloading photos. I am flying to the Rain Forest tomorrow. It's hard being me.
It's all good. Very good.
love from me
