Wow, have been a busy little bee since the last entry! Went on an elephant trek for the day which was interesting....we climbed aboard the hairy smelly Nelly and wobbled off into the jungle, bumping along Nicola decides that she needed to sneeze but was concerned about making a noise and causing an elephant buckaro situation, so holding her nose she went for gold resulting in a wet shower for me-nice!! we past a shack where our guide decided to have a long old chat with the lady banging a dead bird against the wall and leaving us to wonder off shouting "come back' and 'help' we clearly didn't read the brochure properly as after 20 minutes we came off the elephant and had to start trekking through the jungle in our skirts and flip flops-2 hours several pints of sweat, muddy, blistered, bruised and dehydrated we arrived back to the elephant ready to die! Thankfully we took it upon ourselves to re-couperate in the evening with numerous sambucca's and cocktails (mixed by Ryan jumping behind the bar and taking on the role as bartender as he did most nights, Unfortunately this also resulted in the throwing glass from elbow trick going diasterously wrong at the end of the night)
As we unknowingly missed the only ferry to Krabi, the Canadians (Josh and Ryan) chartered a private minibus with cushions, air con, tv-the works to take us accross to Ao Nang in Krabi-was a v.fun road trip featuring singing, hoards of bacardi breezers, bags of crisps and sweets, mmmm! Things took a turn for the worse when we arrived as a huge thunderstorn began, Ryan realisd he'd left his new tailormade suit on the minibus and we couldn't find a room but luckily everything sorted itself out and we had a great last night partying together before the boys left for afghanistan (to fight in the army) the next morning. Spent most of our time in Krabi seriously relaxing and detoxing although we did go kayaking in the mangroves for a day, as we were so pathetic we needed to have a guy in our boat to do the steering and help paddle-lucky Nicola got to sit in the middle and do sod all while i was pumping away and beefing up my guns. Saw hundreds of monkeys, was so cute watching them swim but very scary when they jumped in the boats and started touching us-i think it must be coz we are so damn irresistable with our tans now, ha!
