Sawadee from beautiful (slightly cloudy) Ko Lanta. Had a fantastic time in Ko Phi Phi-spent a day on a traditional wooden longtail boat, sailing over the high seas very nearly getting thrown overboard everytime a bast*rd speedboat or ferry past. First up we arrived at Maya bay, which is where the beach scene from the film 'the beach' was set and hopped out the boat for a spot of snorkelling with lots of weird and wonderful fish a particular highlight included Nicola slightly hanging out her bikini top-i politely pointed at this (so as not too scare the fish) unfortunately she severly mistook the point to mean 'shark' - we had flailing legs and arms everywhere while i was trying to surface and gasp some air while choking with laughter. After recovering we bobbed into monkey beach-seriously the best beach ever, the usual white sand, turquoise sea but cute monkeys running round! Had to buy some corn on the cob to get them down but as soon as they smelt the goodness they were straight down. Had such jokes feeding them and the cheeky monkeys stole the whole bag of corn off us, there was a worrying time when one went for Nic after she stole some corn back from them and we thought she could potentially of caught rabies but this was discounted immediately when we realised they didn't even make a mark! Most nightimes on the island were spent drinking, watching fire throwing shows, live bands and dancing outside on the beaches while meeting so many people with all sorts of interesting stories featuring dogs, a remote australian island (that we'll never be allowed to go to) and honey.....
We have now moved onto ko lanta, famous for it's amazing sunsets with our Canadian friends and spent last night watching a beautiful sunset from a cabana on the beach and staying up till the wee hours learning drinking games from all over the world while watching an interesting performance in the sea! Am sitting by the pool with Nicola at the moment, listening to love songs on the ipod while the sun goes down, is so romantic-in fact i think i might lean in for a kiss, ha ha!
