Living it up in Sydney!
After escaping the rain in Airlie beach, we finally make our way to Sydney in search of some Sunshine! Were in luck, and start our first day in Sydney on the big red bus (dont knock it-we love 'em!!) We take in the sights such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling harbour, the Chinese Garden of Friedship, the Rocks and some big white funny lookin building that everyone loves!
On Friday, we prepare ourselves for our biggest adventure yet - the infamous Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb! We make our way to the Bridge Climb base, and after being kitted up head to toe in jumpsuits, belts, harnesses, radios, headsets (and even hankerchiefs for the emotional!) we start our gruelling climb up to the top. A mere 134 metres later and a maze of ladders, walkways and what felt like a few thousand steps we finally make it! The view of Sydney is out of this world, and for a few short moments we forget about the baking midday sun and our aching feet. And then its all the way back down to the bottom....the way we just came!
By Saturday, James was already feeling withdrawals from the beach, so we caught a ferry over to Manly to chill out for the day. Manly was beautiful, really popular with the surfers and was a great way to get away from the daily grind of Sydney life! However, as we were packing up to leave, the heavens opened and we were caught in an almighty storm AGAIN .... are we ever going to get some sun!!
Sunday we headed to the Observation tower, the tallest building in Sydney, and despite the gloomy weather, we still had spectactular views of Sydney. We went on a crazy 3D virtual experience ride, which was an experience in itsself, which were still tryign to figure out what the hell it was all about!!
Tomorrow, we're leaving Sydney to join a surf tour up the east coast to Bryon Bay ... lets pray its hot and that James can keep up with Chloe in the surf stakes!!
