Having more than willingly hopped out of bed at 7am and checked out of the Shamcaster we took a relatively short transfer to the fabulous little town of Colonia which was a much needed antidote to the slightly flat feeling Montevideo had left. The small family run guesthouse we checked into had a beautiful courtyard (pic above), roof terrace and it's very own podgy moggy (everyone thought it was pregnant but it turned out it was just a fat cat enjoying life). We took to the cobbled streets for a good old fashioned explore and got some cracking snaps of the old cars, and rather unsurprisingly colonial style houses, churches, city walls and reinforcements. After a rather pleasant lunch along the seafront a few of the guys took to the streets in a golf buggy to discover the further flung parts of the town which I sadly missed out on as I had to locate an HSBC to try and prove my identity having had my card blocked for the previous 4 days. Turns out giving them a full itinerary of my trip before leaving wasn't enough to persuade them some little skamp wasn't trying to fraudulently pay my room bill back in Igaussu (ridiculously it would take a further 4 days to get it sorted... The worlds bank my hole!). A few of us settled down at a little bar for what was initially meant to be a little pre dinner bev which turned into a bit of a session (Ice Cold Litre bottles of beer are rather moorish on a barmy evening) before the rest of team W joined us and headed to a rather cool bar come restaurant, where we sat at the end of the garden, eating dinner, sipping cocktails and admiring the back drop of the setting sun over the delightful harbour. A royal thrashing at pool by Eddie (you git) somewhat took the edge off the evening but you can't have everything ; )

Eddie In fairness every game was very close abd the 4-0 (or was it 5-0)scoreline did no justice to your performance. Hola from Peru, miss you guys!
Maureen Dillon I think you stayed at the same place as myself, Tim and Catalina - the big fat moggy was the giveaway...
