In the morning of the second day in Beijing, we had a pretty good breakfast at the hotel. Shortly after that we went to visit IBM and the COO of IBM in Greater China region gave us a presenation of what IBM is and how it operates in China. I found this really useful because it gave me an understanding of doing business in a different contry with completely different guidelines. I now see that it is very important to create trust in the country you are in, especially in China otherwise the government will practially kick you out. I also realized that China does not actually trust foreign companies and that is why even a company like IBM cannot put its hands on and work with the cloud directly. They can only sell the hardware. That same day we also attended a USCBC Briefing and that highlighted how many campanies are in China already in a short amount of time to explain that China is not only a center of manufactering (which is changing quickly) but also the 1.3 (haha) billion people could also be the consumers and that is a huge market and I frankly have never even tought about that. Today made me a lot more aware of the how business in China works and in a way how global business works as well.
