G'day boys and girls!!
Right my current location is Cairns, and i will be here till around the start of October. From this point we are starting our 6 weeks of friut picking, non-stop every day! It's gonna be hard work but it is essential as we shall be saving tonnes of money ready for Christmas in Sydney! However, this blog entry will involve the Thai Islands (Koh Toa, Koh Phangnan, Koh Samui), Malaysia and Singapore (all 8 hours of it!).
We arrived back in Bangkok straight after Camobia, as we had very little time till the Full Moon Party! Stayed in Bangkok for a few nights to give it a good final farewell! These few nights were the messiest ever, never went to bed before 7am! Great few nights, oh and we all braved it and bought a 3inch black scorpio and 2inch Grasshoper to eat! It wasnt pleasant but none of us puked up so it was cool! My eyes have never watered so much whilst eating, it was horrible especially when i had biten into the main body of the Grasshoper and it's juicies flowed! Uuuurrrggghhhh!!! Anyway, straight from Bangkok to Ko Phagnan, where the real fun starts!
We we all so nakered form the antics in Bangkok that when we arrived we took the first guesthouse available! Not normally wise, but fortunately for us it worked out well! It was about a five minute drive form Haad Rinn (The Full Moon party beach)! This was a blessing in disguise as we could have a break in the day time without the noise and s*** from the beach! We had a gang of us now, all quality people consisting mostly of the Irish! Does anyone actually live in Ireland!??? From the onset, we hired mopeds to check out the whole of the island, and it was gorgeous! The many beaches scattered around the island are really pretty, and to my suprise not packed at all! So by day we bummed around on our mopeds and visiting the many beaches, and by night we either went to Haad Rinn beach for the usual bucket drinking stuper, or visited one of the many pool parties that surrounded Haad Rinn beach, where anything goes!!!!!!!! The night before the Full Moon party is said to be the best as the to some people they say the actaul Full Moon night is too crowded. For me both nights were amazing, and the Full Moon party was probably one of the best nights of my life! No pics were taken as i did'nt want to loose my camera! Thats all i can really say about the Full Moon Party, to really know what it is like you have go there! It was a good night...enough said!
From Koh Phagnan we went to Koh Samui! This was my least favourite island of the 3! It was like Ko San Road all over again! Dirty s***ty burger kings (which i still ate at, ha ha!) and Pizza Huts! It's not what you expect really but when you think about about it what else would there be! Only stayed here for 3 days or so, but again some quality nights out! Met some cool people and basically didnt see daylight for 3 days! From here we hopped over to Koh Toa, this island was the prettiest! Most people go there for the diving, stu did and completed his Advanced course! I however, could not afford the diving as i had to pay for my war wound! So instead (whilst Stu was doing something productive) we drank buckets til the early hours every single night! I have got no regrets as i would not have met the people i did! Altogether i stayed on Koh Toa for 7 nights! Miss it so much and we are all going to go back next year!
So from the islands me and Ken went down to travel Malaysia! First stop Penang, supposidly a historic city with lots to see! It was a nice city, it kinda reminded me of a lttle Hong Kong! Malaysia is predominantly Muslim, and the place where we were stayin was literally next door to a Mosque. There were many impressive Mosques around Penang, all boasting there diferent/unique traits which was quite pretty! It was definately a culture change living in such a Muslim dominated country!!!! The bber in Malaysia is sooooooo bloody expensive! Coming from Thailnad it was a shock to say the least! Had a couple of days and nights in Penang, left Ken and traveeled down to Kuala with a top bloke! He had been to KL before and new all the places to go and visit/drink! Kual Lumpur is massive, with the impressive Petronas Towers (no pics of them) and the many different groups of people living there! No white people, predominantly Malaysian and South Indian! Great food at stupidly cheap prices, but once again the alcohol is well expensive! So to save money we bought Special Brew from some shop and drank them on the streets of KL like proper tramps! Well funny and did actaully save us alot of money! Stayed in Kuala Lumpr for 4 nights and travelled down to Singapore via bus! Wanted to stay in KL for as long as possibel as we were having such a good time! (See pics of the beer towers, well messy!)
We were fliying out of Singapore on the night of 20th Aug, i didnt arrive in Singapore till 5pm! So i literally spent 8 hours in Singapore. A little disappointed i did'nt see the world famous zoo. However, looking back i would not have changed it for the world! The flight was smooth thankfully, and arrived in Cairns early morning! For the past three weeks we have been basically deciding what to do for work and working out our best option to save money! Currently staying in a shard flat which has a lush bbq and swimming pool! Nightlife is really good, and the beer is alot better! No pics of Cairns yet, but will take some of the next week or so for a photo album! Ha ha ha, nice work with the bikes on top of the car Mark! Very very smooth!!!! Mum was quick to tell me that it was you who was driving and not her! Hope you are all well and good, anything happening!?? Take it easy and wil put some pics up soon!
p.s. Slyvania!??? Good luck! X
