Arrived at Lake Como finally a decent hour to take advantage of some daylight and have dinner at a respectable hour. This place is so picturesque the town abuts a beautiful lake surrounded by lush green mountains with little towns dotted around them. George Clooney definitely has the right idea he has a place on the bank of Lake Como.
We had dinner at a boutique brewery/restaurant called il Birraficio it was definitely the place to eat we walked in and there were a few tables of people and by the time we left 60 odd tables were seated and the place was buzzing. The risotto we shared was the best we had ever tasted the beer was crisp and the steaks were served still cooking on a hot plate and they were as tender as they come. It was good to get some protein as my body was craving for it so much so we forgot to take photos and just dug in.
The next day we walked to town which was surrounded by high stone walls which seems to be the norm for old towns and as always there were boutique shops galore its a wonder in such an old city you see shiny new shops along their streets well the mind boggles they must make enough money out of us tourists.
We headed up to the finiculare which was a cable car to the top of the mountain to a little town of Biuante which overlooks Lake Como and surrounding areas the view was breathtaking. Apparently it snows here and I could just imagine what it would look like in winter. After heading down we were off to Monza on another driving adventure.
