It's been a long time since the last blog post. Since Nice, I met up with Sonja in Paris and we stayed at her friend's place for a week. We spent the first few days pretty much trying to conquer the many museums that are in Paris. I think I came close to Museum-Exhaustion but it was interesting to see famous artworks up close and to learn things about important monuments. We had lots of crepes and baguettes and Sonja became addicted to a sugary cereal called Cookie Crisps. We went up the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe and went to the Louvre and to the Orsay museum. We had a hot chocolate at Angelina's which was voted one of the best hot chocolates in the world. Was a bit too thick for my liking and it didn't help that they gave us a whole jug of it so, of course, I felt like I had to try and finish all of it and ended up feeling slightly sick after so much chocolate.
We did a day trip to Versaiiles and also to Mont St Michel. Both of which were very pretty in different ways. Versailles was just huge and the gardens were wow and Mont ST Michel was just very old-timey and looked majestic sitting on a hill inthe middle of a lake.
Then went to Tours were we did lost of little trips to see French chateaux, which were all very grand and like you'd been transported back in time.
Then on to Bruges in Belgium were we stayed for a night. THat was enough time to climb the Belfry and to walk around town and for Sonja to quote 'In Bruges' as many times as she could. We arrived in Amsterdam last night and haven't seen anything yet but will hopefully update you on that soon (that's the aim)
