Good morning all! Right then last time i updated it was the night before i checked out of my hotel on Khao San Road. I got up early checked out and took a tuk tuk to the new hotel where my G adventure was to start. The group meeting wasn't until 18.00 so i visited a temple very close by called Wat Tramit which houses the biggest golden buddha in the world, then pooped out in my new room (i have no one sharing with me! Big double bed all to myself). At the meeting a met the new group Susan and Steven from Suffolk, Susan and Rob from Melbourne, Henry from Munich and our guide Fon who's hometown is Bangkok. Note - another 9 people will join the group in Hanoi so i might be sharing with someone soon lol! We discussed our plan for the next couple of days then had dinner. The next day had breakfast at the hotel, checked out of our rooms and set off early to have our first group tour of Wat Pho which has a giant reclining buddha inside. We had a hour trip by longtailed boat down the canals of Bangkok. After that we split up for free time in the afternoon i went on my own to the Grand Palace and the temple of the emerald buddha, it was ridiculously hot! So went back to the hotel for a shower in our day room. Met up with everyone at 17.00 to catch the overnight train to Chiang Mai. We were delayed leaving the station by about a hour because there had been an accident on the line. The train was the most comfortable i have been on! Got off the train yesterday morning at about 9.30. Had a fantastic day, we called it Thailand in a day lol. First we checked in and went for an excursion to see the local hill tribes village to see the long necked women, we went to an elephant camp! (my favourite Thai expeirence) We saw them do a small performance they played football and painted pictures then had a half hour ride!!! It was absolutley awesome! After we drove back to the hotel for a quick freshen up, then back out again to visit Wat Dot Suthep to watch the monks chanting and the sun setting over a beautiful golden temple. We had dinner and tried Chiang Mai nooldes which were lovely. Then to round up a very exciting day we went to a Ladyboy caberet show in the town centre! The show was free just had to buy drinks, it was really good fun! This afternoon we leave Chiang Mai and take a 5 hour bus ride to Chiang Khong and then cross the border to Laos by boat, i don't know the computer situation in the hotels inbetween here and there so my next update may be in a few days! Country number five here i come! xxxx

Margaret Caselli Nan - Hi Lora - glad it is all going so well and you have more company to meet up with. You obviously didn't stick fast to see all the sights on your own - hope it is safe though! I don't know how you remember all the names of the places - you must have a sharp pencil and a big piece of paper!! Ciao for now, take care. xx
